Shoelace sweep
Also known as Shoelace Heist Reversal — the canonical term used on this site.
Names the shoelace (SLX) heist sweep
Shoelace sweep is a descriptive name for the shoelace heist reversal — “shoelace” naming the grip on the opponent’s foot that anchors the sweep.
Etymology. “Shoelace” describes gripping the foot around where a shoelace would tie; “sweep” names the reversal. The label foregrounds that foot grip, common in single-leg-X play.
Mechanics. The shoelace grip lets the bottom player attack the opponent’s base: controlling the foot and elevating the leg from single-leg-X removes one support, so the opponent’s base collapses on that side and they topple, the grip steering the leg out from under them.
Cross-reference. “SLX stand-up” and “Shoelace stand-up” are sibling aliases. Full mechanical coverage on Shoelace Heist Reversal.
