Doubles
Also known as Double Leg Entry — the canonical term used on this site.
Training background: abbreviated
Informal plural for the double leg
Doubles is informal shorthand for the double leg — the clipped plural wrestlers use in the room and the corner.
Etymology. “Doubles” simply abbreviates “double leg” into a one-word call, the way “singles” stands in for the single leg. It is spoken shorthand with no lineage beyond convenience.
Mechanics. The double leg destabilises by attacking both supports at once: driving in on the two legs removes the opponent’s base entirely, and controlling the secondary leg as the attacker turns the corner is what prevents them from posting out and recovering.
Cross-reference. “Double leg takedown” and “D-leg” are sibling aliases. Full mechanical coverage on Double Leg Entry.
