X tilt
Also known as X-Guard Tilt Sweep — the canonical term used on this site.
Names the X-guard tilt sweep
X tilt is the short name for the X-guard tilt sweep — naming the tilt of the opponent from X-guard.
Etymology. “X” abbreviates X-guard; “tilt” names the sideways unbalancing of the opponent. The clipped term drops “guard,” used where the position is understood.
Mechanics. The tilt destabilises the opponent off their base sideways: the crossed legs lift one side while the bottom player angles, breaking the opponent’s balance over the lifted leg so they tip rather than being lifted overhead, the bottom player rising as the tilt completes.
Cross-reference. “X-guard corkscrew” is a sibling alias. Full mechanical coverage on X-Guard Tilt Sweep.
