Twisted mount escape
Also known as S-Mount Escape Techniques — the canonical term used on this site.
Escape from twisted (S-mount) configuration
Twisted mount escape is the label for the escape sequence from the S-mount configuration — the mount variant in which one of the attacker’s knees is elevated in a twisted leg-position that opens armbar entries.
Etymology. “Twisted” specifies the leg-twist geometry of the S-mount; “mount” attaches the positional family. The descriptor is sometimes used as the alternate name for S-mount in coaching contexts that prefer descriptive labels.
Mechanics. The escape priority is protecting the exposed arm while destabilising the attacker’s elevated knee — the twisted geometry creates the armbar threat but also creates structural weakness the escape can exploit.
Cross-reference. “S-mount escape” and “high mount escape” reference the same family. Full mechanical coverage on S-Mount Escape.
