SLX back entry
Also known as SLX Back Take — the canonical term used on this site.
Single-leg-X entry to the back
SLX back entry is a descriptive name for the SLX back take — “SLX” abbreviating single-leg X, the position the back entry launches from.
Etymology. “SLX” is the standard shorthand for single-leg X-guard; “back entry” names the destination. The label frames the technique as a route to the back rather than a sweep to the top.
Mechanics. From single-leg X the bottom player uses hip mobility to come up and around the controlled leg toward the back; shifting the hips off the entanglement turns the elevation into a path behind the opponent rather than a sweep, the hips carrying the bottom player to the rear angle.
Cross-reference. “Ashi back take” is a sibling alias. Full mechanical coverage on SLX Back Take.
