Descriptive — the dilemma pair from one leg position
Shoulder-lock triangle switch names the pair rather than either half: an omoplata and a triangle attacked from the same leg configuration, each punishing the defence to the other.
Etymology. The compound records the dilemma. Neither name alone tells a defender what they are in, because the attacker is not committed to either finish until the defender chooses one.
Mechanics. A defender who postures up out of the omoplata lifts their head into the space the triangle wants; one who stays folded denies the triangle and keeps the shoulder loaded. They cannot do both. ★ The best version of this attack is frequently the one that is never finished — showing the leg travelling toward the neck re-loads the omoplata the defender was escaping.
