Shoulder choke counter defence

Descriptive — a shoulder strangle used as a counter
Shoulder choke counter defence is the descriptive name for Von Flue choke defence, naming both the strangling surface and the fact that the attack exists only as a counter.
Etymology. “Counter” is the load-bearing half. The Von Flue is not hunted independently — it answers an arm-in guillotine, which means the person defending it is by definition the person who was attacking a moment earlier.
Mechanics. That reversal defines the escape. The anchor is the defender’s own guillotine grip, holding their head in place for the attacker, so releasing the grip removes the submission at a stroke. Every later answer is more expensive and none work while the grip is still held.
