Reverse hook tripod
Also known as Reverse Tripod Sweep — the canonical term used on this site.
Reverse-hook tripod sweep
Reverse hook tripod is a descriptive name for the reverse tripod sweep — “reverse hook” naming the reverse De La Riva hook that drives it.
Etymology. “Reverse hook” describes the hook wrapping the leg from the reverse side; “tripod” names the sweep family. The label foregrounds the hooking leg over the “RDLR” abbreviation.
Mechanics. The reverse hook destabilises the opponent by levering their leg: extending the hook tips the opponent backward over the controlled foot, and the off-balance carries them down as the bottom player follows the reversal up to the top before they can post the freed leg.
Cross-reference. “RDLR tripod sweep” is a sibling alias. Full mechanical coverage on Reverse Tripod Sweep.
