ou pass
Also known as Over-Under Pass — the canonical term used on this site.
Shorthand for the over-under pass
OU pass is shorthand for the over-under pass — “OU” abbreviating the over-and-under arm configuration on the legs.
Etymology. “OU” simply takes the initials of “over-under”; “pass” attaches the objective. The clipped form is whiteboard and chat shorthand, with no lineage beyond compressing the longer name.
Mechanics. One arm over the near leg and one under the far leg lets the passer split or stack the legs; from that grip the passer drives to and holds the knee line, the control zone where the guard can no longer reinsert structure.
Cross-reference. “Over-under body lock” is a sibling alias. Full mechanical coverage on Over-Under Pass.
