No-arm darce escape

Also known as D'Arce and Anaconda Escape — the canonical term used on this site.

Training background: arm-out variant

Arm-out variant of the D'arce escape

No-arm darce escape is the label for the escape sequence from the arm-out D’arce variant — the configuration in which the D’arce closes around the bare neck without the opponent’s arm trapped inside the choke geometry.

Etymology. The “no-arm” prefix flags the variant: the standard D’arce traps the opponent’s arm inside the choke loop, while the no-arm variant closes around the neck only. The arm-out version has tighter mechanics but a narrower entry window; the escape considerations differ accordingly.

Mechanics. The escape priority is creating space at the neck before the bilateral compression completes — without the arm trapped, the attacker’s mechanical efficiency is higher and the escape window is shorter.

Cross-reference. “D’Arce escape” covers the standard arm-in variant. Full mechanical coverage on D’arce/Anaconda Escape.
