Calf cutter
Also known as Calf Slicer — the canonical term used on this site.
Training background: common alternative name — same technique
Descriptive — calf-cutting compression
Calf cutter is the descriptive name for the calf slicer — using “cutter” as the alternate metaphor for the wedge-leverage mechanic that compresses the calf against the knee joint.
Etymology. “Cutter” describes the wedge-cutting feel of the fulcrum against the calf; “slicer” and “cutter” are interchangeable in the same metaphor family. The label appears in coaching contexts that prefer the cutting variant.
Mechanics. The compression loads a fulcrum into the calf tissue at the knee — the wedge geometry forces the joint past safe range while the calf tissue absorbs the immediate compressive load.
Cross-reference. “Calf crush,” “compression lock,” and “calf slicer” are alternate names. Full mechanical coverage on Calf Slicer.
