Z-Lock
Also known as Game Over — the canonical term used on this site.
Training background: Common alternative name — refers to the Z-shaped leg configuration
Z-lock as the game-over leg knot
Z-Lock, in this sense, is a name for the game over position — the crossed-leg entanglement also called the leg knot.
Etymology. “Z-lock” describes the Z-shaped crossing of the legs in this entanglement; here it routes to the game over position, disambiguated from the Z-lock hip submission that shares the name. The “Z” names the leg configuration, not the same finish.
Mechanics. The entanglement controls both of the opponent’s legs in a crossed configuration, owning the inside space that determines the position: with the legs knotted and the inside controlled, the opponent cannot extract or defend, and an immediate heel hook is available off the locked configuration.
