Wojcikiewicz lock defence
Also known as Woj Lock Escape — the canonical term used on this site.
Eponymous — full surname behind the “Woj” lock
Wojcikiewicz lock defence gives the full surname behind the Woj lock, the hip-and-knee attack usually referred to by its clipped form.
Etymology. The clipped “Woj” predominates in speech and instructional material because the full name is unwieldy; indexing both matters because written references split between them. The technique is eponymous, carrying the surname it is named for.
Mechanics. The defining instruction is negative: do not bridge. Hip extension is what finishes this lock, so the reflex that escapes most pins feeds this one directly. Hip rotation toward the entangled side and extraction is the answer, and the submission carries a defence waiver — there is no viable late-stage escape.
Cross-reference. Full escape coverage on Woj Lock Escape, which sets out the two-stage structure the waiver requires.
