Triangle armlock escape
Also known as Omoplata Escape — the canonical term used on this site.
Descriptive — escape from triangle-shaped shoulder armlock
Triangle armlock escape is the descriptive name for the omoplata escape — flagging the triangular leg geometry and the armlock-on-shoulder mechanic that characterise the attacking configuration.
Etymology. “Triangle” specifies the leg-geometry (the attacker’s legs form a triangle over the trapped shoulder); “armlock” attaches the submission category. The label is used in coaching contexts that emphasise the structural shape of the attack over the canonical “omoplata” name.
Mechanics. The escape priority is preventing the triangle from closing or breaking it before the shoulder-rotation completes.
Cross-reference. “Omoplata escape” is the standard name; “coil lock escape” is the alternate geometric label. Full mechanical coverage on Omoplata Escape.
