Straight Foot Lock

Straight Foot Lock is the alternate name for the straight ankle lock — using “foot lock” rather than “ankle lock” to label the same submission with a slightly different anatomical-emphasis.

Etymology. “Straight” specifies the configuration direction; “Foot Lock” attaches the submission-category with foot-rather-than-ankle anatomical reference. Both “foot lock” and “ankle lock” appear interchangeably in coaching vocabulary.

Mechanics. The submission compresses the Achilles via dorsiflexion plus hip extension — the foot or ankle reference is editorial preference.
