Stack pass

Also known as Double Under Pass — the canonical term used on this site.

Names the stacking action of the double-under pass

Stack pass is a common name for the double under pass — naming the stack, folding the opponent onto their shoulders, that the double-under grip produces.

Etymology. “Stack” describes the opponent being folded up onto their upper back; “pass” names the objective. The term is mechanical and lineage-neutral, shared wherever the double-under stack is taught.

Mechanics. With both arms under the legs the passer drives forward and down, transferring weight onto the folded hips so the gap between the players closes; the stacked opponent cannot create space underneath the load, and the passer walks around the pinned hips.

Cross-reference. “Double under stack” is a sibling alias. Full mechanical coverage on Double Under Pass.
