Etymology. “Pinned under mount” names the predicament in plain terms: stuck under full mount. The label is informal, foregrounding the feeling of being pinned over the formal position name.
Mechanics. Under mount the space is contested, owned by neither player: the mounted player works to deny room while the bottom player fights to create it. Escapes succeed by making and seizing that contested space through the bridge and shrimp before the top player can settle weight back over it.
