Descriptive — the triangle-omoplata hybrid
Leg triangle omoplata is a descriptive name for the tarikoplata — naming the hybrid that combines a leg triangle with an omoplata shoulder lock.
Etymology. “Leg triangle omoplata” spells out the hybrid: a triangle of the legs that finishes as an omoplata on the shoulder. The label describes the mechanics where “tarikoplata” names it after the position it derives from.
Mechanics. The hybrid isolates the shoulder, the joint that must be separated from the defensive system before the lock finishes: the leg triangle traps the arm and head while the structure rotates the shoulder, so the trapped limb cannot be withdrawn and the shoulder is loaded in isolation toward its limit.
