Leg slicer defence is the general family name for compression attacks on the leg, of which the calf slicer is the common representative.
Etymology. The broad form is used where the specific wedge position is unclear or varies. It parallels “arm slicer” for the bicep version, and the shared vocabulary reflects genuinely shared mechanics — a joint bent over a hard edge.
Mechanics. Every member of the family needs a bent joint and a fulcrum in the crook, so straightening is the general answer across all of them. The leg versions carry the extra hazard that the pain and the injury are in different places, which distorts a defender’s sense of urgency.
