Leg reap entry

Also known as The Reap — the canonical term used on this site.

Training background: Descriptive term for the entry movement.

Descriptive — entry via the leg reap

Leg reap entry is the descriptive name for the reap leg-entanglement when framed as an entry mechanism — the leg-attack entry that uses the reaping motion to commit the attacker into the position.

Etymology. “Leg reap” specifies the structural element and motion; “entry” attaches the entry-mechanism context. The compound predominates in instructional vocabulary that emphasises the entry-vs-position distinction.

Mechanics. The reaping motion drives the attacker’s leg through the opponent’s leg structure — the entry commits the hip to the inside space before the opponent can defend.

Cross-reference. “Inside reap” is the configuration-level alternate name. Full mechanical coverage on The Reap.
