Bottom-perspective X guard configuration

Bottom X is the bottom-perspective name for the X-guard configuration — the bottom-position guard variant in which the bottom player’s hooks form an X-shape against the standing opponent’s leg.

Etymology. “Bottom” specifies the perspective; “X” carries the leg-configuration name forward. The compound distinguishes the bottom-position X-guard from related X-shape configurations applied from other positions.

Mechanics. The X-shape hook configuration provides bilateral leverage on the standing opponent’s leg — sweep options to either side and back-take entries follow from the destabilised standing base.

Cross-reference. “X-guard” is the canonical name. Full mechanical coverage on X Guard.
