Arm drag to back
Also known as Arm Drag — the canonical term used on this site.
Training background: full descriptive name
Descriptive — arm drag taken to the back
Arm drag to back is a descriptive name for the arm drag — naming the destination, the opponent’s back, that the drag is used to reach.
Etymology. “Arm drag” names the action of pulling the arm across the body; “to back” names where it leads. The compound foregrounds the back-take objective, distinguishing it from arm drags used merely to break a tie.
Mechanics. Dragging the arm across strips that side’s defensive frame and wins the controlling connection on the near hip; with that side seized, the opponent cannot square back up, and the angle behind the dragged arm opens the path to the back.
Cross-reference. “Wrist-and-tricep drag” is a sibling alias. Full mechanical coverage on Arm Drag.
