Training background: alternative proportion naming

Asymmetric ratio variant of the 70/30 family

80/20 is the asymmetric-ratio variant name within the 70/30 leg entanglement family — describing a configuration in which one player has roughly 80% of the leverage and the other has 20%.

Etymology. The numeric label specifies the asymmetric tactical state: 80/20 is the more imbalanced variant of the 70/30 family. The compound predominates in coaching vocabulary that distinguishes between varying degrees of leg-entanglement asymmetry.

Mechanics. The asymmetric configuration favours the higher-leverage player — the lower-leverage player must work to either equalise the entanglement or escape it before the higher-leverage player completes an attack.

Cross-reference. “Seventy-Thirty,” “Eighty-Twenty,” and “Asymmetric 50/50” are alternate names. Full mechanical coverage on 70/30.
