Training background: guard context
Full name — 50/50 mutual leg entanglement
50/50 Guard is the full positional name for the 50/50 leg entanglement — the configuration in which both players have mirror-image leg entanglement on each other, producing a symmetric mutual-entanglement state.
Etymology. “50/50” describes the symmetric tactical state (each player has 50% of the leverage); “Guard” attaches the position-family. The compound predominates in published instructional material; “Fifty-Fifty” and “Mutual Entanglement” are alternate forms.
Mechanics. The symmetric configuration produces equivalent attacking opportunities for both players — whichever player establishes the leg-attack angle first generally wins the exchange.
Cross-reference. “Fifty-Fifty” and “Mutual Entanglement” are alternate names. Full mechanical coverage on 50/50.
